Trimethylglycine (TMG) is the supreme methylating agent and assists homocysteine to be metabolized into methionine, resulting in the production of DMG (dimethylglycine). Further metabolism of TMG produces the enzyme methyltetrahydrofolate reductase (the active form of folic acid).
